About the Field Station

Tåkern Field Station was founded in 1964. Since then we have been studying birds, insects, other animals and plants. Originally the Field Station was situated at our bird tower at Glänås, on the southern side of Tåkern. In 1976 we moved to Kvarnstugan and in 2011 to the present location at Åsenstugan on the south side of the lake.

If you want to work with us as volounteer you can write to Lars Gezelius, lars.gezelius@lansstyrelsen.se. We offer a small salary from 100 tol 200 SEK per day. We have staff from regularly from May to August, sometimes also in September.
